Prix Opening Shot

The Groupama Gan Foundation for Cinema and the Cinéfondation (Festival de Cannes) have a common vocation: to encourage upcoming new film directors.

This joint collaboration has led to an exciting new prize : the Opening Shot Prize which aims to encourage the interests of French producers in quality first and second foreign feature films.

A grant of 20.000 euros will be attributed each year to the French producer who associates with the awarded project developped at the Festival's Residence in Paris by the guest directors of the last two sessions. The grant is credited on the first day of the shooting.

The prize selection process is as follows:
-pre-selection by the Cinéfondation and then selection of the awarded project by the Groupama Gan Foundation for Cinema and the Cinefondation.
