The Foundation
The Groupama Gan Foundation, a corporate foundation of Groupama S.A., was established in May 1987 during the 40th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. It has become one of the principal private partners of French cinema.
The Groupama Gan Foundation is active in two areas. It works to preserve the world's cinematographic heritage, and it promotes the production, distribution and exhibition of today's films.
It's role is a crucial one given the perilous state of numerous masterpieces from the past as well as the difficulties encountered in the production and distribution of today's feature-length films. Equally important is the quality of its selection process and the different forms of support it has developed.
